CLACTON Rugby Club faced disappointment when their scheduled Essex League division one fixture with Bancroft – their first match of 2014 – was called off on Friday morning.

The Buckhurst Hill-based opponents were unable to field four front row players – tight-head prop, hooker, loose-head prop and one potential replacement – and so were forced to concede.

Clacton were awarded a five-point win, which keeps them third in the table.

Clacton have no first-team fixture on Saturday.
