FC CLACTON crashed to a desperately disappointing 3-2 defeat at home to Thurlow Nunn League premier division basement boys Woodbridge Town today.

The Seasiders took the lead thanks to a diving header from Jake Plane.

But things quickly turned sour when the visitors scored twice late in the first half.

The damage would have been even worse had it not been for two great saves from goalkeeper Joe Fowler.

Woodbridge then added a third, before substitute Ali McInnes scrambled Clacton's second.

However, Phil Yearling's side were unable to snatch a leveller and there was more drama when both sides were reduced to ten men, following an altercation.

James Gregory was the player sent-off for the Seasiders, whose next game is a crunch derby at Wivenhoe Town next Saturday.
