THERE was a great deal of interest in the annual “back to front” match at Clacton Golf Club.
Course manager Alan Smith and his staff repositioned the tees and members found themselves playing from the first tee to the 18th green, then on to the 17th green and so on.
At one point, members had to play across country with no distance markers, just to make things more difficult.
However, playing pairs, best ball stableford, Paul Newman and Ray Bennett had a great day, returning a winning score of 44 points.
In second were father and daughter Steve and Katy Yates, with 38.
In third were Dennis West and Steve Hunt, with 37.
