Razor: I’d like to get back soon

RAY Turner hopes to make a quick return to non-league football.

The striker is on the look-out for a new club after resigning as FC Clacton manager last Friday.

He says a combination of factors led to his decision to call it a day, after 15 months in charge at the Rush Green Bowl.

But he hopes to make a quick return to the game – and admitted he has already had offers to play.

“I’d like to get back in quickly, without a shadow of doubt,” said the former Stanway Rovers, Wivenhoe Town and Halstead Town front man, known as Razor.

“I’ve already had three playing offers, since leaving Clacton.

“One is from a team at a higher level, one at the same level and one from a step below.

“That’s something I might consider in the short-term and I certainly don’t want to be out of the game for long.

“I want to get back involved again – as a manager in my own right – and I feel I need a new challenge. I’m ready for that and hope it comes sooner rather than later.”
