FC CLACTON’S Louie Newland is convinced he and his team-mates can start turning performances into points.
And the midfielder is sure they can give themselves a pre-Christmas boost by winning at Thetford on Saturday.
The Seasiders went agonisingly close to notching a timely victory in Saturday’s Thurlow Nunn League premier division contest at home to Walsham-le-Willows.
Aaron Condon’s penalty put them in the driving seat, but they conceded late goals to lose 2-1.
Newland was the oldest player in a young team, at 25.
But while gutted and frustrated to finish empty-handed, he is convinced positive results will follow – starting this weekend.
“We’re more than capable of going there and winning,” said the former Holland FC player, who made his Seasiders debut in the 2009/10 season.
“We can definitely beat them and I think we will beat them."
