PROUD Brightlingsea Regent manager James Webster has described his side’s FA Vase heroics as the highlight of his time at North Road.

The Tendring side cemented their place in the last 32 after a stunning 2-0 victory at Spartan South Midlands League side Colney Heath, on Tuesday night.

The teams met in a third-round replay after drawing 2-2 on Saturday.

And it was Regent who progressed, courtesy of a Terry Rymer penalty and an own goal, to set up a tie against Bodmin Town on January 18.

“I was so proud,” said Webster.

“We’ve had some great times together, including a few promotions, but for me this was the highlight."
