Wet weather is damp squib on final weekend
CLACTON Cricket Club ended the season with a double disappointment.
Wet weather put paid to their final Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League fixture of the season, at home to Copdock and Old Ipswichians.
Saturday’s match had to be cancelled because of the rain.
Meanwhile, Clacton have also had a penalty point imposed, for fielding an ineligible player.
It means the Seasiders finished sixth in the table, with 297 points from their 22 games.
They will also receive a financial penalty.
Swardeston were crowned league champions, while Sudbury have been relegated back to the Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship.
