FC CLACTON goalkeeper Joe Fowler is backing his side to cause an FA Cup upset.
The Seasiders are preparing for a first-round qualifying tie at Ryman League division one north outfit Brentwood Town on Saturday.
Ray Turner’s side have already jumped two hurdles in the famous competition, memorably knocking out Sporting Bengal United and Hullbridge Sports in front of the BT Sport cameras at the Rush Green Bowl.
Now Fowler is confident the run can continue – despite being up against higher-placed step four opposition at the weekend.
“We’re underdogs but we can definitely cause an upset,” said the 19-year-old shot-stopper, set to return to the team after being suspended for Saturday’s FA Vase defeat at Bowers and Pitsea.
“I believe that and so do all the boys."
