Ollie’s treble puts the gloss on county cup success
7:00am Friday 22nd March 2013 in Sport By Matt Plummer
BRIGHTLINGSEA’S Colne Football Academy have won some coveted county silverware.
Adrian Webster’s side faced former champions Barking Abbey in the final of the under-19 Bryon Coomer County Cup and ran out 7-1 winners at AFC Sudbury’s ground.
Ollie O’Hare stepped off the bench and put the gloss on proceedings with a quick-fire hat-trick.
Shane Goodyear had got the ball rolling with a great individual goal, taking the ball around the goalkeeper and calmly slotting home.
James Crisell then made it two, scoring the rebound after a penalty had been saved.
Barking Abbey pulled one back early in the second half, but Colne quickly made it 3-1.
Winger Bradley Wright used his pace to latch on to a through ball before rifling a right-footed shot into the far corner.
The Colne boys never looked back from there.
Jordan Brazitis scored a fourth with a smart finish, rolling the ball past the keeper into the bottom corner.
O’Hare then stepped off the bench and proved himself a perfect impact substitute, scoring a hat-trick in just under 15 minutes.
