Davies so proud after historic Shield victory
5:00pm Thursday 14th March 2013 in Sport By Matt Plummer
TENDRING Volleyball Club are preparing for a historic appearance in the National Shield final.
The Frinton-based women’s team booked their place after a pulsating three sets to one victory against Birmingham, in the semi-finals on Saturday.
They now face Loughborough at the National Volleyball Centre, in Kettering, on April 20.
And proud coach Nick Davies felt his players were rightly rewarded after an exceptional performance at Tendring Technology College.
“We’re absolutely thrilled,” he said.
“The girls were really up for the game and rose to the occasion.
“It was pretty much the most solid performance they’ve given all season.
“It was one of their stand-out displays, without doubt, and they’ve been rightly rewarded with a place in the final.”
