Parkes: this season will benefit us

CLACTON Hockey Club skipper Carl Parkes insists his side will come back stronger, more experienced and better equipped after having their relegation fate sealed.

The Seasiders are heading back to East Men’s League division three south-east after suffering heavy defeats on Saturday and Sunday.

They remain bottom of the table after losing 7-0 at home to Bedford, before shipping eight without reply at Upminster.

However, Parkes says it is far from doom and gloom and is proud of his players’ efforts in division two south.

“I’m certain we’ll be stronger next season, because of this experience,” he said.
