Tigers show their rapid progress

TENDRING Volleyball Club’s newest team were in top form at a women’s four-a-side tournament, featuring eight teams from across East Anglia.

Tendring Tigers were pipped in their first game against a higher-level team, after making a nervy start.

However, they then went from strength to strength and won their final six games, including a big win against the early favourites.

After entering the tournament as novices, the organisers asked that points were deducted from their tally because they were too strong for their category.

However, even after having points taken off, they still won the local league level award.

The team was Claire Palfrey, Nicola Benassi, Georgia Ibbotson, Beth Ibbotson and Charlotte Lines.

They have only been playing together for three months.
