Netball finalists prove to be a real class act
8:00pm Thursday 7th March 2013 in Sport By Matt Plummer
A TEAM of netball aces have booked their place in a district final.
The Year Seven team from Clacton County High School (CCHS) now face Colchester Girls High School, in the North East Essex School Sport Federation District final.
They secured their spot after winning the Tendring School Sports League final, beating the Clacton Coastal Academy.
CCHS were a point ahead by the end of the first quarter but then moved up a gear, thanks to excellent defensive play.
Laura Golding was fantastic in the centre, intercepting balls from all directions.
Up front, the team’s point-scorers were in fine form, with excellent shooting from Maddie Austin and Leila Dutton.
CCHS consolidated their score over the next three quarters to win 18-6.
