Turner hails man-of-the-moment Aaron

FC CLACTON boss Ray Turner has hailed man-of-the-moment Aaron Condon.

The wide midfielder or striker has been in red-hot form in recent weeks, scoring in the last three games and netting a brilliant brace in last Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Kirkley & Pakefield.

Condon says his manager must take a large slice of the credit, having given him a “rocket” for not producing his best form.

And Turner is pleased his words of encouragement have paid off.

“I told Aaron that if he didn’t improve, he’d be dropped to the bench,” said the Seasiders boss, who is preparing his side for this afternoon's home match with Felixstowe & Walton.

“He took it well and since then he’s been a different player, picking the ball up, taking people on and scoring goals.

“He’s a handful for any defender and his chipped goal last weekend was amazing.

“You won’t see many better goals at this level.”

Turner says last weekend’s point has given his bottom-of-the-table side renewed belief.

“We played so well and some of our passing and movement was the best of the season,” said the striker.

“We were a joy to watch.

“It’s given the boys a bit of belief and our next three games are certainly winnable.

“Having said that, I firmly believe we’re capable of beating anyone if we’re professional, disciplined and keep our shape.”
