Austin: points are around the corner

SKIPPER Tom Austin can see light at the end of the tunnel for FC Clacton.

The Seasiders have a mountain to climb if they are to avoid relegation this season.

Ray Turner’s troops are bottom of the Thurlow Nunn League premier division with just nine points from their 26 games.

However, performances have been much-improved recently and there was genuine optimism after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at promotion-chasing Stanway Rovers.

Now Clacton are aiming to show their progress by beating Godmanchester Rovers – a side that thumped them 6-0 in October – at the Rush Green Bowl on Saturday.

“There’s definitely light at the end of the tunnel and I feel points are round the corner,” said Austin.
