Seasiders open up commanding lead

CLACTON Indoor Bowls Club enjoyed a convincing 11-2 win against West Mersea, in their latest Essex County League match.

Losing just one rink out of six, they had a shot score of 135 to 99.

With just three of the seven matches to go, Clacton have opened up a commanding 11-point lead at the top of the table, ahead of second-place Havering.

In this week’s friendly, the Seasiders entertained Thameside Wanderers.

The visitors were successful by four rinks to two and 89 shots to 80.
