Pool players prepare for prestigious Tendring Open
4:36pm Thursday 25th October 2012 in Sport By Matt Plummer
POOL players are gearing up for the prestigious Tendring Open.
The tournament – said to be one of the biggest in the district for years – has been organised by the Clacton Eight Ball Singles League and starts in November.
It is a straight knockout competition.
Each round is the best of nine frames and players will be drawn at home or away.
The home player has the choice of venue.
Anyone can enter and any venue can be used, providing it falls within the Tendring district.
There is £400 of prize money up for grabs – £200 and a trophy for the winner, £100 for the runner-up and £50 for each losing semi-finalist.
Entry is £10 and the closing date is next Wednesday. For an entry form, to enter online or for more information, go to www.clactonsinglesleague.leaguerepublic.com
