Parkes: we can still beat dreaded drop

CLACTON Hockey Club skipper Carl Parkes is backing his troops to end their win-less run.

And he says there would be no better time than in Saturday’s showdown against fellow strugglers Stevenage, at Vista Road.

The Seasiders have found it tough going in NE14 East Men’s League division two south, having sealed promotion in March.

So far, they have played six games and lost them all, most recently last weekend’s 6-2 reverse at Royston.

Nevertheless, Parkes is still optimistic his team can turn things round.

“I’m not downbeat,” he said.

"I’m still confident we can put some results together and climb up the table.”
