The Right Stuff?
BRIAN Dyke's letter (Gazette May 15) in praise of Douglas Carswell states "he is made of the right stuff to serve in a future Conservative cabinet". If this should happen we can look forward to another period of division and anger that was the hallmark of the previous Conservative government.
For example, Mr Carswell says "Britain needs to quit the E.U." so we can progress from a Conservative government that encouraged us to join to one that wants us to leave.
Then our M.P writes "it's time to axe the council tax", how exactly he intends to do this is a mystery, perhaps this heralds a return to poll tax.
Thankfully our M.P regards "serving the community before party politics" as his primary concern and this should be great for Tendring regardless of everything else.
