Tia Goode had won her battle against leukaemia but the fight had weakened her immune system. She suffered a brain haemorrage on Saturday and died.

The five-year-old from Tulip Way, Clacton, touched the hearts of the town when her family started a fundraising campaign last year.

Readers raised £1,000 for Acorn House - a charitable trust at Addenbrooke's Hospital where her mum and dad, Melissa Clapham and Darren Goode, statyed when she was being treated.

Tia's funeral is on Wednesday, April 9.
