Three hurt after crash

A MAN was kept overnight in hospital after a crash in Stanford-le-Hope last Monday.

Firefighters had to use specialist cutting equipment to free the man after two cars collided in Southend Road, at its junction with Goldings Crescent, at around 6.30pm.

Two people in a blue Peugeot 307 sustained minor injuries, and the driver of a blue Skoda Felicia suffered serious injuries.

All three were taken to Basildon Hospital by ambulance.

The driver of the Skoda was kept in overnight for observation.

A section of the road was closed for two hours while debris was cleared and the cars were recovered.

Police are now investigating the circumstances of the collision.
