A MAN found with a metal bar in the street was handed a community sentence.
Marcus Freeman, 23, of Coleman Street, Southend, had the three foot weapon with him in Hastings Road on June 30.
He admitted possession of an offensive weapon and resisting arrest.
Southend Magistrates’ Court ordered him to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work and pay £50 compensation.
