AN MP has been out and about campaigning for re-election.

James Duddridge, who is the MP for Rochford and Southend East, has his car kitted out to drive around Southend and Rochford.

Mr Duddridge, who has been the MP in his constituency since 2005, drove around in the car highlighting his campaign issues.

He said: “It is great now the House of Commons is no longer sitting to be out and about campaigning.

“I have got my election car decked out in the Union Jack with a new photo of me sporting a new beard.

“The loud speaker still has to go on.

“When it does you will hear me asking the question about town – Who do you want in Number 10 – Theresa May or Jeremy Corbyn? I am asking to be re-elected to provide strong and proven leadership for Rochford and Southend East and the country.”

Mr Duddridge has had a campaign car in previous years.

Over the years, the MP has campaigned on various issues including successfully preventing the closure of Sutton Road Post Office, in Southend and also securing the opening of a new driving test centre for Southend following the closure of the previous centre back in 2008.
