MORE than 40 college students showed off a diverse range of projects, from the world of hip-hop, body image and fashion, to paganism, gun control and cooking.

It came as part of an End of Year Extended Project Show at Palmer's College on Wednesday.

The qualification, equivalent to half an A-level, allows students to produce a focused piece of work on a topic of their choice.

Edward Walls, a student at the college said: “I enjoyed working on a project of my own choice and researching a subject I am really interested in.

"It is also great preparation for what it will be like to study at university.”

After Palmer’s College Edward would like to go on to university to study Paleontology.

Kathy North, Extended Project Co-ordinator, said: “This event is a superb way for students to showcase their talents and creativity.

"The majority of the students have taken this course as an additional qualification to stretch and challenge themselves in preparation for university or work and they should be incredibly proud of their achievement.”
