TWO friends have decided to brave the chop together so they can help children battling cancer.

Cara Noble, 28, and Victoria Chipps, 22, have pledged to get their flowing locks chopped off to raise money for children’s cancer charity, the Little Princess Trust.

The pair, who both work at at the South Essex Gymnastics Club, will be having the extreme cut on Sunday, March 5, at the centre during the interval of the club's Men’s Artistic Challenge Cup competition at the Basildon Sporting Village.

Events manager Cara, said: “Tori and I have been working with children for a number of years and find great happiness in seeing the things that we do put a smile on their faces.

“This year we have decided to extend that to doing a sponsored hair cut and donating some of our hair to this amazing charity.”

Administration assistant Victoria, also known as Tori, added: “You have to have at least seven inches cut off to donate your hair for the wigs that are made by the charity.

“But I will be getting at least ten inches cut off and maybe 12 – so we are getting into having a bob territory!

“We are also considering letting one of the parents watching the competition do the cutting, but that is yet to be confirmed.”
