A WOMAN in her 70's had to be treated with "A&E level care" for a leg injury after an incident this morning.
The Magpas air ambulance flew to Rayleigh this morning, to treat the woman.
A spokesman for the air ambulance said: "At 10.24am this morning Magpas Doctor Richard Booker and Paramedic Chris Hawkins flew to Rayleigh via the Magpas Air Ambulance.
"They had been called by the East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) to treat a woman who had sustained a leg injury.
"The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient, in her 70’s, and sedated her and administered advanced pain relief, providing A&E level care at the scene.
"This allowed the team to splint the injury before accompanying the woman by land ambulance to Southend University Hospital.
"She was in a stable condition upon arrival."
An EEAST paramedic crew and Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) were also in attendance.
