A SEXUAL predator who subjected two teenage girls to sickening abuse during a game of spin the bottle has been jailed for six years.

Kieran Hartley-Anderson met two girls under 16 years old, one of whom he already knew, when they came for a day out in Southend in May last year.

Hartley-Anderson, now 23, of Wool Pack, Shoebury, took the girls to a beach hut in Shoebury where they spent the night.

The following day he started a game of spin the bottle, leading to several hours of sickening abuse.

He faced charges of two counts of child abduction, one count of rape, eight counts of sexual activity with a child, and one count of inciting a child to conduct sexual activity.

He admitted ten offences at Basildon Crown Court on February 29 but denied the rape charge.

The prosecution accepted the pleas and the court ordered that the rape charge will lie on file.

Sentencing Hartley-Anderson at the court today, Judge Samantha Leigh said: “When one of the girls realised you were asleep she tried to get away.

“You caught up with her and because there were people around you made out she was frightened by a dog.”

During their ordeal, Hartley-Anderson, who has no previous convictions, also threatened the pair with violence and suggested they could end up in prison themselves.

Judge Leigh said there was no excuse for Hartley-Anderson not to have known the girls were under age.

She said: “You knew how old the girls were.

“You got angry and said they were being childish, and of course they were children.”

Judge Leigh said both girls are still having difficulty coming to terms with what happened.

Hartley-Anderson was also made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order, which will run indefinitely.

Investigating officer DC Carol Astbury, of the Sexual Offences Investigation Team based in ‪Rayleigh‬, said: “Hartley-Anderson is a sexual predator who took advantage of his vulnerable victims.

“His actions have affected them deeply and I would like to thank them for their bravery throughout this investigation and court case.

“He will now spend a significant time behind bars and I hope this will help give his victims some closure so that they can move forward with rebuilding their lives.”
