FIRE crews had to cut a woman free from her car after it overturned.

The one vehicle crash happened in Boston Avenue, Southend, at about 5.20pm on Thursday.

Two crews from Southend used specialist cutting equipment to free the woman, in her 50s, by 5.50pm.

An ambulance service spokesman said: “We were called at 5.24pm to reports that a car had overturned in Boston Avenue, Southend.

“We sent an ambulance crew and an ambulance officer to the scene.

“The patient was treated at the scene, she was a female believed to be in her 50s.

“She was conscious and breathing and treated for minor injuries.

“After receiving treatment she was conveyed to Southend Hospital in a stable condition.”
