UK power working to resolve power cut affecting 3,000 homes on Canvey
A POWERCUT on Canvey has affected more than 3,000 homes on the island this afternoon.
A UK Power Networks spokesperson confirmed that around 2,600 customers now have restored power, and that work is being carried out to repair faults affecting the remaining homes.
He said: “Due to a fault in the Canvey Island area, 3,121 customers had an interruption to their power supply at 12:46pm today.
"Our engineers responded quickly and restored power to 2,604 customers within 5 minutes. We are currently continuing to work as quickly and safely as possible to restore the remaining customers. UK Power Networks would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused while we fix the fault.”
