THE bridge at the Dartford Crossing will for one night this weekend for maintenance.
The closure will be in place from 10pm on Saturday until 5.30am on Sunday, with Kent-bound traffic being diverted through the east tunnel.
The closure will allow general maintenance – including bridge inspections, carriageway sweeping and cleaning, lighting maintenance, calibration of the ice sensors and replacing electronic signs on the overhead gantries – to be carried out.
Southbound traffic will be briefly held while the contraflow is installed and removed at the beginning and end of the work.
Drivers of tall vehicles – over 4.8 metres northbound and five metres southbound – will be diverted via the western section of the M25.
Northbound traffic will be limited to just the west tunnel, which has a height limit of 4.8 metres.
