A CHARITY ball at Orsett Hall will help to raise money to fund research into the condition affecting a seriously ill Grays girl.

Isla Johnson, four, was diagnosed with chronic pseudointestinal syndrome when she was just one. It stops the muscles in her stomach working.

The ball, which will be held on Saturday, October 24, will raise money for the Port Charity, a small organisation based in Essex which is trying to shed light on new treatments and support patients with the disease.

The rare condition gives Isla pain as the body believes there is a blockage. It also causes nausea and vomiting.

The only way for her to feed is by total parenteral nutrition into a vein as her body is unable to digest any sort of solid food and drink.

The ball will feature a host of entertainment, as well as a three-course meal and wine, an auction and a raffle.

Compering and performing on the night will be comedian Phil Reid, so giggles are guaranteed!

DJ Leon Rowland will be playing music into the early hours.

Tickets for the night are £50 per person, and are available by calling organiser Jessica Eatherton on 07904 312692.
