MORE than 100 homes could be built in the centre of Grays under plans from developer Keepmoat.

The company is proposing 69 homes on the former Treetops School site and a further 34 close by on the corner of Dell Road and Orsett Road.

The land is owned by Thurrock Council.

The plans will be outlined at a drop-in session at the Thameside Theatre on Monday, where residents will be able to ask questions and leave their feedback.

The developer is keen on acquiring the site and will submit the plans to Thurrock Council following the consultation.

A spokeswoman at Keepmoat said: “We wish to consult with the local community before finalising our proposals and are planning a drop-in session to give residents an opportunity to view and comment on our initial scheme.”

The former school site has been vacant since 2008 after Treetops left foranew building in Buxton Road.

A council spokeswoman said the two sites had been marketed as potential residential opportunities.

The drop-in session will run from 4pm to 7pm in the Thameside Two meeting room.
