THOUSANDS of people will head to Southend to enjoy the glorious weather at one of the biggest events of the year.
The Robin Hood Game and Country Show takes place at Garon Park in Eastern Avenue on Saturday and Sunday.
The huge family event offers something for everyone including world-class arena events such as jousting tournaments, bike stunts and falconry displays. There will also be a chance to visit the medieval village, clay pigeon firing range The show spans Garon Park making it the biggest game and country show in Southend, with entertainment for all the family.
Dogs are not only welcome there is a host of special events for pooch lovers and an ‘All About Dogs zone’ The zone will be crammed with top displays and arena acts from across the country, including dog agility to obedience displays, gun dog demonstrations and security dogs.
There will be a trophy for the All About Dogs best in show winner with rosettes for the runners up.
This year also features for the first time their is dinosaur zone which is sure to be a hit with kids.
Lorraine Stevens, spokesman for ograniser Aztec Events, said: “We are excited to bring the Robin Hood Country and All About Dogs Show to Southeend. We don’t know of any event in Southend where children can enter free if booked online.
“We have a fantastic show lined up with the new dinosaur attraction and a Punch and Judy show.”
Among the other many attractions, there will be knights, vikings, archers, owls, ferrets and horses.
There will also be more than 200 trade stands selling everything from country clothing to delicious foods.
Adult admissions cost £10 or £7.50 if booked in advance and concessions are £8 or £7 if booked in advance.
Tickets for children aged five to 16 are £5 and free if booked online in advance before Friday (need to check this) Tckets on the gate are cash only.
Arena displays are included in the price of your entry ticket.
