A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital following a crash with a lorry this morning.
The accident on the A13 Londonbound, between the Five Bells Interchange and Stanford Le Hope, took place shortly before 7am.
It was initially believed a car was involved in the crash, but ambulance services confirmed it was a motorbike and lorry.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, was treated at the scene for back pain and an ankle injury.
Paramedics took him to Basildon Hospital for further treatment.
Traffic queued back to the Pitsea flyover following the crash.
There were also minor delays on the A127 Londonbound as motorists avoided the A13.
