THURROCK Freemasons held a whip-round among members and raised £2,000 for Little Havens’ Hospice, which they presented on February 16.
The money came from the Grand Lodge Relief Chest and was inspired by a Masonic Lodges Open Day at the hospice in October last year, when Masons saw the care the hospice provides to local families.
Ken Turner, the lodge’s charity steward, said: “I had the pleasure of attending an Open Day at the hospice and left determined we should try to do something to help.”
