DETECTIVES investigating a robbery at a jewellers have today released a CCTV image of two men who they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

They were pictured visiting the Gold and Diamonds store in Furtherwick Road on the day of the robbery, on Thursday February 19.

Investigating officer Det Con Andy Copley said: "We believe the two men may be able to assist us with our enquiries and would urge them to come forward and speak to us.”

The Echo previously reporterd jewellery worth £15,000 was stolen when raiders threatened members of staff with a 2ft machete.

An 18-year-old man from Canvey was arrested on suspicion of robbery and has been bailed pending further police enquiries until Sunday, April 19.

Anyone who recognises the men is asked to contact officers at Southend CID on Essex Police 101.
