RECORD-BREAKING numbers descended on Seevic College for its latest open evening.

Over 1,000 people visited the college, in Runnymede Chase, Benfleet, for its first evening of the academic year.

Local traffic was brought to a standstill as parents struggled to get into the car park.

Youngsters and their parents took a tour of the site and found out about its A-level courses, BTECs and apprenticeships.

Students achieved recordbreaking results in the summer, with the college being in the top 10 per cent of national schools and colleges for progress achieved by its AS-Level students. There was also a record number of applications received from prospective students on the night.

The college’s next open evening takes place on Tuesday, November 25 from 5.30pm to 8pm. Visitors are advised to pre-book online at www.seevic-college.ac.uk
