SMOKE from a fire at a Canvey depot was seen from as far away as Westcliff.
Residents reported seeing smoke and flames from near the Oikos Terminal in Haven Road shortly after 3pm today.
Firefighters were called to the scene near HBC salvage yard. The tractor had been detached and was not involved in the fire.
A trailer loaded with scrap cars was on fire.
The fire was extinguished shortly after 4pm.
