Drugs warning after two men receive emergency hospital treatment
Drug users across Essex are being warned of dangerous batches of cocaine in circulation after two men were rushed to hospital.
A patient from the Tiptree area is in intensive care at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford after taking the Class A substance last night.
An 18-year-old man from Chelmsford received specialist heart treatment at Basildon University Hospital today after taking cocaine.
Ambulance crews were called at 8am to initial reports he was having difficulty breathing after taking the drug.
Essex Police and the East of England Ambulance Service remind regular drug users not to source substances from unknown suppliers while others are advised to refrain from ingesting illegal drugs.
