POLICE have urged members of the public to come forward with information on a crash which left a girl with life-changing injuries.
A girl under the age of ten was hit by a car in King Street, Maldon last night.
It was reported a blue BMW had been in collision with a number of vehicles and a girl on King Street at around 6pm.
The girl was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries and she remains in a stable condition.
A 27 year-old man of no fixed address and a 29 year-old man from Wickham Bishops were arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drink driving.
They both remain in custody.
Detective Sergeant Adam High, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “I need to speak to anyone who saw the BMW prior to the collision to come forward.
“This is a busy residential road and I believe someone will have seen something.
“If you witnessed the incident and the moments leading up to it, have CCTV, or have dash cam footage I need you to come forward.”
