An axe-weilding thug robbed a Maldon betting shop.
Essex Police are investigating after Coral Racing on Maldon High Street was robbed by an armed masked man on Wednesday last week.
A police spokesman said: "We’re investigating an armed robbery at a Maldon betting shop.
"A man armed with an axe entered Coral Racing in High Street at 8.35pm on Wednesday March 14 and stole a three figure sum of cash.
"He was described as white, between 5ft 8ins and 6ft 1ins tall, and of stocky build. He had his face covered and wore an olive green jacket and blue jeans."
Police only released details on the incident to the Standard today.
