A LADIES choir held a concert in December which has now raised more than £400 for two charities.

“Harmony” took to the stage at the Royal Burnham Yacht Club to help contribute to the cost of the Christmas Day meal they provide to those who live alone.

The choir, led by Natalie Bettany and accompanied by Esta Abbott, performed a selection of songs ranging from classic Christmas carols to more contemporary arrangements by Snow Patrol. Alongside the performance by Harmony, local musicians Wood3n Strings performed several classical pieces for the audience.

The money was shared between the United Reformed Church of Burnham and the Dengie Project Trust.

Natalie Bettany, Musical Director, said: “The concert was another big success for us and we are so pleased that we have been able to continue raising money for our causes.

“We are extremely grateful for the support we receive from the public and we will continue to perform in and around the community.”

Harmony is supporting another fund raising project at the end of January with a concert at All Saints' Church, Creeksea on Saturday January 27at 2.30pm.

The church is raising money for its annexe, which is already under construction. Tickets are £10 per person and include refreshments. To book, email ianehharvey@gmail.com.
