PROFESSIONAL wrestlers will be going head to head with trainees in an action-packed end of year showdown.

The Harwich School of Slam started in 2015 to give people of all ages a chance to learn the ropes.

Dozens of rising stars at the school have trained their hardest to face off against professional wrestlers.

The end of year show called Invasion is being held on Saturday, December 16, at Kingsway Hall with a host of wrestlers.

The show will be headlined by School of Slam champion Harry Mant who will be defending the belt against long-time foe Kobre, and professional wrestler Joseph Cage will be up against trainee professional wrestler Xander.

There will also be a six man ladder match and other wrestling stars including, Hooch, Dexter, Mike Check and Harley Rae.

Mark Young, founder, said: “The main thing is that it’s a celebration of a breakthrough year for us.

“We want to end the year on the biggest high possible and we have just got to top it next year.”

He added: “I’m extremely proud of what the school has achieved this year, with now 60 members and several stars now getting booked elsewhere too.”

Mark said he hopes for a turnout of about 150 to 200 visitors to watch the show.

Doors open at 5.30pm for a 6pm start and the event draws to a close at 9.30pm.

Remaining tickets can be purchased on the door for £5.
