GUITAR star Adrian Nation has released his fourth album ahead of a five-week tour of Canada.

The 47-year-old singer-songwriter, from Fleetwood Avenue, Holland-on-Sea, hit the headlines after making it through to the final in Sky Arts’ Guitar Star in 2015.

Adrian, who was also a youth team coach at Clacton Rugby Club, has now released his fourth album, called Anarchy and Love.

The album is a blend of politically-charged protest, rolling road songs, high energy instrumentals as well as a moving tribute to the life of his father, who died just before the release of the previous album.

For the first time Adrian has written and recorded songs on electric guitar, but also keeps his unique acoustic style.

Adrian said: “My music is going in the direction I always wanted it to.

“The day before the album came out it was already a number 9 in the CKUA Radio Network in Canada and it had been picked up by Radio Caroline and in South Africa and the US. It’s really building up.

“It did take longer than I had hoped to release a fourth album. It is a more mature album and I play electric guitar for the first time. I think the song writing is better - it’s the best album I have made.

“Writing this album has taken me to places in the world I’ve never been before.

“It’s all about connecting with people and feeling part of something.”

One of the songs on the new album River in the Rain is based around Adrian’s experiences growing up in Holland-on-Sea, fishing near his grandfather’s home next to the Holland marshes.

Adrian is set for a month-long tour in Canada following the success of his third album Live at Crossroads.

The album was picked up by Andy Donnelly of the CKUA Radio Network in Alberta and led to a 17-show tour in the country in 2015 and festival appearances last year.

Adrian will return from Canada to play a gig with Ady Johnson at the Headgate Theatre, in Colchester, on December 13 at 7.30pm.
