Residents at a care home enjoyed a trip out to a garden centre.

Larchwood Care Home, in Broad Road, Braintree, paid a visit to Poplar Garden Centre in Marks Tey and took a ride on the miniature railway.

The visit was rounded off with afternoon tea, including cakes and a wander around the Garden Centre’s shop.

Paula Keys, chief of operations at HC-One which runs the home, said: “In all of our HC-One Homes we are keen for residents to meet and interact with members of the local community.

"I'm very pleased to hear Larchwood Care Home residents have had the opportunity to visit a local garden centre and ride on a train which sounds very thrilling.

"I would like to thank everyone involved as this is indicative of how HC-One provides the kindest care."

HC-One is celebrating achieving a 9.4 average rating on the sector’s care home comparison website Carehome.co.uk.
