A WOMAN has been arrested following an attempted murder in Clacton.
Detectives had issued an appeal to trace Kelly Gentry, 46, after a man in his 60s was stabbed at an address near Clacton Railway Station, in Station Road.
The victim suffered stomach and neck injuries during the incident, which happened just after midnight on Saturday, June 24.
A spokesman for the force said: “Essex Police are no longer looking for Kelly Gentry, who was wanted in connection with an attempted murder near Clacton railway station just after midnight on Saturday, June 24.
“A 46-year-old woman of no fixed address was arrested in Harlow today, Saturday July 1, on suspicion of attempted murder.
“She is currently in custody for questioning.”
The East of England Ambulance Service was called to the scene at 5.56am on June 24.
A spokesman added: "We received a call to respond to a male patient who was believed to be suffering stomach and neck injuries.
"A rapid response vehicle and ambulance crew were dispatched.
"The patient was transported by road to the Colchester General Hospital in a stable condition."
