PARENTS of a man killed in a car crash have paid tribute to their loving, bubbly son.

Shane Scott, 21, from Colchester, died after the car he was driving was involved in a crash with another car in Tenpenny Hill, Thorrington.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Friends and family described Shane as “the man you will never forget”.

Speaking out for the first time since the crash, Shane’s family said: “Our son Shane died on June 20, just nine days after his 21st birthday.

“He was a loving bubbly, cheeky chap who was a loving son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew and devoted boyfriend.

“Shane loved his sports, especially playing rugby and boxing, and he had a keen interest in cars.

“His happy-go-lucky nature meant he had a huge set of friends, who we know will miss him.

“Even though his life ended prematurely Shane was still able to fit many fantastic memories into such a short space of time.

“We know his friends will be smiling remembering some of those happy times while reading this.

“Our beautiful son will never be forgotten by anyone who knew and loved him. Safe journey son.”

Shane’s girlfriend, Emelia Dresser, wrote on her Facebook page: “The person you will never forget, bad things happen to good people, I love you untold amounts and I’m gonna make you proud, I promise.”

Shane was a forward at Clacton Rugby Club and was a former pupil at the Colne Community School in Brightlingsea.

Pupils at the school are raising money to support the charities which helped the victims of the accident.

A spokesman from the school said: “We were devastated to hear of the tragic death of one of our former students, Shane Scott.

“Shane is remembered fondly by those who taught and knew him in the school. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this terrible time.

“The Colne Community School and College will be holding a non-school uniform day to raise funds to donate to Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust and Essex Air Ambulance, two of the services closely involved with the families.

“This is one of a series of non-school uniform days which raises money to support both local and national charities.”

A date for the non-uniform day will be decided shortly.

His family let off lanterns and said their goodbyes at Wivenhoe Quay on Friday. Family and friends of Shane attended.

Three people are still in hospital with serious injuries following the crash.
