The Harwich mayoress’s appeal has handed over more than £4,800 to three local charities.
Each year the mayoress chooses good causes to support and hosts a variety of events to raise fund for them.
Kim Warner, who was mayoress for the past 12 months from last year until this month, held fundraisers, including quiz nights, a race night, 80s night and a film screening.
She has now handed over cheques to her chosen charities at a special presentation evening at Harwich’s Guildhall.
The Harwich Horse Rangers received a cheque for £1,000, while the Harwich Food Bank and ACT, a children’s theatre group, each received a cheque for £1,905.
Kim said: “A lot of people put in a great deal of time and effort to raise money for the Mayoress Appeal and I am very grateful to them all. The three organisations do so much good and it was lovely to be able to show our appreciation to them in a way that will make a real difference.”
Phil Crabb, from ACT, said: “We want to say thank you for all the hard work she put in over the last year during the time she spent as mayoress.
“This money will go towards our show of Sherlock Holmes and the hound of the Clackervilles, which is on at the park pavilion in November.”
