AMBULANCE crews were called to a man lying unconscious in a road.

A 999 call was made after the man was spotted in Birchwood Road, Dedham, around 7.40pm yesterday.

A community first responder, rapid response vehicle, ambulance crew, ambulance officer and a response car from the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust were sent.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “They tended to one patient who was initially unconscious but he regained consciousness and didn’t appear to have any obvious injuries.

“He was taken by land ambulance to Colchester General Hospital for further treatment.”
