SHOPPERS queued for hours to be the first customers at the new John Lewis store.
The shop opened yesterday morning in Bond Street, Chelmsford, with an official event attended by various special guests including Tony Appleton, Chelmsford Town Crier.
Chelmsford City Council has also extended its park and ride service to 9pm today to allow more people to enjoy the opening and visit the new store.
